Frequently Asked Questions

Our main intakes are semester 1 and semester 2. The next intake is semester 2, which starts in July 2025. So, if you’ve finished year 12 – and depending on your circumstances and the requirements of your chosen course – you could start at Curtin this year!

The following intake is semester 1 2026, with TISC applications opening on Tuesday 3 June this year, and direct applications opening on Thursday 1 May 2025.

We offer several entry pathways into degree courses, including ATAR, VET entry and portfolio entry. Your entry options are based on your current or predicted qualifications, like ATAR, WACE and VET certificates or diplomas, or your life experience.

We offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across numerous study areas. Head to one of our information booths to speak to teaching staff about specific courses you’re interested in, or visit Curtin Connect if you’re unsure what to study and need general course, or pathway advice.

In the meantime, you can search our courses by study area, or take our Find U quiz to find out what courses match your interests.

Nationally, employers rated Curtin graduates first for employer satisfaction in the latest Australian Government’s Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) Employer Satisfaction Survey (ESS). Curtin is also ranked in the top 1% of universities in the world in the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2024, and many of our courses are accredited and recognised by industry bodies.

This means that when you study with us, you’ll not only get a quality education, you’ll also graduate with the right skills and qualifications to start working in your chosen career.

There are several ways to get into Curtin if you’re not coming straight from school. You might apply through the Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT), an enabling program, or by using qualifications you’ve already completed – like a certificate, diploma or previous university study.

Explore your entry pathways to find the one that fits you best.

Whether you’re finishing school, changing careers or coming from overseas, applying to Curtin is straightforward.

If you’re a school leaver in WA, you can apply through TISC. Otherwise, you can apply directly to Curtin or explore other recognised pathways – like an enabling program, the Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT), or your previous study or work experience.

Just follow a few simple steps:

    • Choose your course
    • Check the entry requirements
    • Find your best pathway
